About the role:
As a result of delivering a top quality financial software product to their well recognised (household brands) client's and continued business growth, this boutique, innovative financial software company with headquarters in Sydney, are looking for strong, intelligent Core Java Developers to join their 10 strong development team. You will spend most of your time doing hard core Java development on a single product in Java, Spring and Hibernate. You too will be working within a genuine XP environment with daily stand ups and pair programming being the norm.
To be successful in this role: - At least 2 years of commercial Java development experience
- Excellent core Java skills; you will be grilled on your J2SE knowledge
- A genuine desire or love for working in a truly agile development environment
- Excellent communication skills
- An understanding of Spring and Hibernate would be beneficial but not essential
- You must be genuinely passionate about Java development and related tools and technologies; if you don't know something you need to be the type to research it rather than ignore it. You actively contribute to open source projects and blog about Agile and Java for example.
You'll be responsible for:
- Hard core Java Development on a single product
- Pair programming and contributing to daily stand up meetings
- Investigating and evangelizing new technology solutions
- Sharing your knowledge and experiences with the rest of the team and influencing the direction of development
This role is well suited to a developer with approximately 2-3 years of experience in Java web development who wants to continue their career within this space but would also like to obtain commercial exposure to Spring and Hibernate.
